Dogs at wedding ceremonies

Pets at weddings

Allow your furry friends to enjoy your wedding day too!

I love my dogs. They were my first babies before my son was born. If we’d had our fur babies before we got married, there is no doubt that they would have been present at our ceremony, just the same way our son would have been if he’d been born before we were married!

And I am not the only one. In the last few years, I have seen a growing number of dogs joining in their owners wonderful celebrations and it has always been such a welcomed addition. If marriage is the union of a family and your dog or cat is very much a part of your family, then why shouldn’t they be there to celebrate the special day too? Especially if you are having a lovely outdoor ceremony too, it almost seems the perfect opportunity.

I have seen dogs walking their owner down the aisle, doggie ring-bearers, dogs with bowties and one dog even woofed right on cue when the couple said ‘I do’. And for my couples who have logistically not been able to bring their beloved pets with them, I’ve had replica toy stand ins and at the very least, during the welcome I give a special mention of their absence and how much they are missed.

I’m all for a bit of furry love on a wedding day. Aren’t you?
