My kind of love #3 The do-gooders & that wedding!

Well, I must admit, this week has been a tough week to find inspirational sources of love from around the world. One week, (last week) I was full of love and happiness, following our ten year anniversary celebrations and this week, I am struggling to find examples of love in the world because it has been nothing short of a gloomy week.

The news is so depressing. Terrorism is a really scary, horrible threat that we can’t seem to escape and yet again it is always the innocent people that suffer. Politicians carry on being politicians and famous people who you grew up with and loved like your own family members turn out to be disappointing human beings! (Bill Cosby). Anyhow, enough of the doom and gloom, because we all know that wherever there is evil and hatred in the world, there is also goodness and love, too.

You’ve got to love the do-gooders

This week, despite some of the criticisms it was really great to hear that Band Aid has relaunched again to help fight Ebola and other world problems. Yes, sometimes we have to question the motives of some of the celebs involved and whether their part in it is as much as for charity as it is for their own publicity, but whatever the reason a hell of a lot of good and monetary love has been accomplished. Within seconds of the single being released, something like a million pounds had already been raised. You can check out the video below.

I’m so old, I didn’t recognise half the artists taking part, apart from Bono, who kind of looks like someone’s dad who was trying to find the loos but ended up in the wrong room. It’s all for charity though, so well done them! Plus, we simply don’t get to see Bob Geldof enough that often. I love seeing him on the telly with his messy hair and calling all the criticism, ‘bollocks,’ much to the horror of the all the tv journalists. You’ve got to love Bob.

Put a ring on it

B2o-R8bIEAEmvKcSo, a few years after Jay- Z put a ring on her sister’s finger, it’s so nice to see that Solange has now followed suit. I get excited to hear about ANY weddings, but of course, it’s only the celebrity weddings that we hear about on such a huge scale. Nonetheless, weddings=love and I love reading ALL about them, whoever you are and this wedding was no different. Perhaps, we’ll never ever hear the full details about their ceremony, and maybe rightly so because they want to keep it private but I can only imagine and hope that their creativeness in all other aspects of their wedding day, started with their ceremony too. I can’t imagine that a couple this damn cool and creative would have a really boring, off-the-peg ceremony! I hope not, anyway.

My biggest smile of the week

Came in the form of this beautiful video that one of my lovely couples whose wedding I conducted this summer, sent to me this week. I had tears in my eyes from 0.08 seconds into the video, and I would love to hear how far you can make it without welling up. This ceremony was so emotional and so heartfelt, and the vows that they wrote to each other were beyond special. I’m hoping to feature so more of this couple’s amazing wedding ceremony, which not only included an amazing speech on equal rights but also beautiful expression of love and togetherness. So you have been warned, this video will make you smile, but it will be through the tears!!! Love, love, love this.

Right, I’m off. I have a two men (a little one and a big one) and three doggies to shower with love and hugs and receive back in multitudes.

Until the next time. xxxx
